Ketogenic Diet

The ketogenic diet, also known as the "keto" diet, is a low-carb, high-fat diet that has been gaining popularity in recent years as a weight loss strategy. The goal of the diet is to enter a metabolic state known as ketosis, in which the body burns fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates.

One way to measure if an individual is in ketosis is by monitoring the body mass index (BMI). A BMI within a healthy range can indicate that the body is burning fat efficiently.

ifts the body's metabolism from burning glucose (carbohydrates) to burning fat for energy. When the body burns fat, it produces ketones which is where the name ketogenic diet comes from.

The ketogenic diet plan typically involves drastically reducing the intake of carbohydrates and increasing the intake of healthy fats. This shift in macronutrients causes the body to enter a state of ketosis, where it begins to burn fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates.
